Morgan Wallen has been accused of reckless endangerment after allegedly reacting to news of his ex’s marriage.
The musician was taken into custody late Sunday, April 7th, and formally charged early Monday, April 8th with three counts of serious reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct.
Reports suggest that the country pop artist, known for his appearance on The Voice, was involved in an incident at a bar in Nashville, Tennessee, where he allegedly threw a chair from a sixth-floor window.
Wallen’s legal representative issued a statement saying, “Morgan Wallen was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct in downtown Nashville at 10:53 pm on Sunday night. He is cooperating fully with the authorities.”
Media sources claim that Wallen’s actions were triggered by discovering his former girlfriend, social media personality Katie ‘KT’ Smith, had secretly tied the knot with Luke Scornavacco just days after their engagement.
The singer and Smith had a three-year relationship that ended in 2019, and they have a child together.
It’s worth noting that Wallen’s work, including the song “Last Night,” earned him a nomination for Male Video of the Year at the recent CMT Awards on April 7th.
